With remote working becoming (more or less) the norm across many organisations, each one has to embrace a more collaborative way of working.

Many already use mobile chat, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and other collaborative applications to communicate, both internally and externally.

These rapidly growing platforms present new electronically stored information (ESI) challenges in discovery, as they contain potential evidence in litigation, internal investigations and compliance matters.

The challenge however, is the lack of standards. Each chat, collaboration and/or archiving tool differs from the next. As a result, in the context of discovery, every combination of chat application and archiving tool presents a unique data challenge for discovery teams.
